Abstract

Aim The aim was to investigate possible improvement in color confusion as measured by Stroop Test, due to practice of bhramari pranayama as compared with breathing awareness. Material and methods Subject consists of 50 school students included (boys=25 and girls=25), in the range of 9-11 years were participated. They acted as their own controls. They were assessed on Stroop Test immediately before and after two sessions (i) bhramari pranayama (ii) breath awareness with an equal time (10 minutes) period. 50% 0f participant performed bhramari pranayama and remaining participants performed on breathing awareness on day 1. The orders of the sessions were reverse on day 2. Results: Both sessions showed significant improvement in total and net score. But the magnitude of change was significantly higher in BHR compared to BA. It shows the changes in Bhramari Pranayama is much more significant compared to breathing awareness. Conclusion: The effect of Bhramari Pranayama showed better improvement compared to breathing awareness. Keywords: Color confusion, Yoga, Bhramari Pranayama
