Abstract
Background: Increase in stress factors due to changes in life styles, increase in pace of life, career and
family pressures, have contributed markedly to the escalation of physical and psychological problems
faced by the midlife women passing through climacteric transition. Time constraints restrict the
menopausal women from taking care of their own health. Bhramari pranayama is a yogic breathing
practice which can reduce stress.
