dc.description.abstractBackground: Type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM), epidemic attracts much attention by its high morbidity and mortality directly from disease or by associated complications. Insulin resistance and Obesity (IR) are the major causative risk factors for the disease and IR is well established, before the impairment in glucose homeostasis. Objectives: To study the effect of intensive integrated yoga therapy program (IIYT) on body composition and IR in T2DM. Design: Single group longitudinal pre–post study Setting: Study was conducted on thirty patients with T2DM in a residential yoga health care center, Bengaluru, India, between July and November 2011.en_US
