Abstract
Background: Many Complementary and alternative therapies (CAM) have been
found to be beneficial in improving the digestion. More particularly Acupuncture
plays a key role by activating the stomach meridian.
Aim: The present study is aimed at substantiating the relation between the
disorderliness of digestion viz., indigestion, and poor digestion and over digestion
with the manifestation of other physical symptoms.
Settings and Design: The participants were from Arogyadhama (Yoga hospital),
VYASA, Bengluru, and South India’. The present design was a simple survey type of
design.
Methods and Material: All subjects were assessed using a check list to find the
relation between disorderliness in digestion and other symptoms of the body in
every subject.
Results: Comparison of all symptoms was made and the highest percentage
obtained for each symptom for all three groups were taken into consideration.
Conclusions: The result suggests that indigestion, poor digestion and over digestion
are associated with muscle cramp. Similarly headache is also associated with
indigestion and poor digestion.
